lyrics

I'm drawn to the night. In the black is where the soul bears a darker side. And it feels so right. But it led me to a dead end hole. That's seven years deep. Let's see if I can make it out in just three. Staring up at those slick black walls . Someone throw a rope down on please. Cold shell of a soul. I'm looking like another dead man. Something in the air. Keeps me kicking when I'm losing all hope. Dream of that sunshine. Stay on that upward spiral. Avoid the Black. Leap high over life's tall hurdles. But not too far away. Old fires still burn bright now. Smell it in the air . Old words left there marks upon me yeah. Like my old man said "go against the grain." You can swim with the fish if you're swimming upstream. Go to the beat of your own drum. You are my blood my only son. Torn, broken, and burned. The ingredients for me to get a lesson learned. To affect the mind. Comprehend, to let in the light. Can't read it and weep. I have to touch and feel to see.Just short of a suicide. It's the nature of the beast.
